What is hypnosis?
Hypnosis is often likened to being in a day dream, where you are fully conscious but somewhat unaware of things and people around you and if you needed to be fully aware you would become so immediately. This is a light state of hypnosis and so you can see that it happens to most of us naturally on a daily basis.
Hypnotherapy is when you are guided by the therapist to achieve a very relaxed state which in turn allows you to be receptive to positive suggestion. The therapist works ethically and sensitively to allow you to gain the change you desire.
What does hypnosis feel like?
No one experience will be like another, it is a very individual thing, however most people find hypnosis a very pleasant experience. Clients leave the session feeling relaxed, calm and focused. It is important to remember that you are always in control.
What can I expect in a hypnotherapy session?
You can expect to make positive changes in the way you think and behave. Your willingness to engage in the process is the most important thing. Henry Ford famously said "Whether you think you can or think you can't, either way you're right." Believing in the process is key to achieving your goals. You will be guided by the voice of the therapist who is trained in the art of facilitating positive change in a client.
How many hypnotherapy sessions will I need?
It may be that a client needs four to six sessions to create lasting change. Some clients can achieve their goals in just one session. It is a very individual thing.
"I can’t be hypnotised"
And now we're back to Henry Ford's famous quote above. As long as you’re willing to relax into the hypnotherapy session and work with the therapist you will achieve a state of hypnosis.
Conversational Coaching helps clients to move forward and set personal and professional goals that give them the life they really want. D.I.S.C helps individuals and companies to open the doorway to more effective communication and better realtionships.
What is NLP?
NLP or Neuro-Linguistic Programming. This means what we think, what we say (including our self talk) and as a result of this, what we do. The therapist uses techniques from NLP to allow the client to create powerful change within. Think of it like a computer that needs a clean up, an old piece of software removed and a new better piece of software installed. This means installing better patterns of behaviour for the client.
