Hypnosis is often likened to being in a day dream, where you are fully conscious but
somewhat unaware of things and people around you and if you needed to be fully
aware you would become so immediately. This is a light state of hypnosis and so you can see that it happens to most of us naturally on a daily basis.
Hypnotherapy is when you are guided by the therapist to achieve a very relaxed state which in turn allows you to be receptive to positive suggestion. The therapist works ethically and sensitively to allow you to gain the change you desire.
No one experience will be like another, it is a very individual thing, however most people find hypnosis a very pleasant experience. Clients leave the session feeling relaxed, calm and focused. It is important to remember that you are always in control.
What can I expect in a hypnotherapy session?
You can expect to make positive changes in the way you think and behave. Your willingness to engage in the process is the most important thing. Henry Ford famously said "Whether you think you can or think you can't, either way you're right." Believing in the process is key to achieving your goals.You will be guided by the voice of the therapist who is trained in the art of facilitating positive change in a client.
How many hypnotherapy sessions will I need?
It may be that a client needs four to six sessions to create lasting change. Some clients can achieve their goals in just one session. It is a very individual thing.
